Saratoga County is home to state parks for winter activities galore. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing opportunities are plentiful. Don’t worry if you don’t have the gear. You can rent equipment at some of the parks or at our local ski shop. The Saratoga Spa State Park is great for both, with trails all through the park. Plus, there is a rustic warming hut to start your adventure or relax and warm up after you’re done. To learn more visit www.saratogaspastatepark.org . Moreau Lake State Park has great trails through the woods for shoes or skis. If you don’t want to do the trails, you can stay on the flat and go around on the small lake. You can also visit the Snowshoe Capital of the World in Corinth and head out on the National Snowshoe Trails or you can check out one of the many nature preserves in the area. Of course, if you’re into snowmobiling, ice fishing or just building a snowman, there’s plenty of that too.
